John got his start in computers back in 1980 exploring the potential of a brand new personal computer, the Timex Sinclair 1000 (also known as the ZX81). He wrote a lengthy (over 2K!) program that demonstrated the awesome powers of this little computer and then sold it to be used as a running demo at that year's Computer Fest.

He began experimenting in graphic design through a prominent Toronto typography house, Lind/Orchard Graphics, where he learned the skills of the trade before joining his father's own design company, Hamilton Design; founded in 1968. John spent over five years in computer 3D animation, with one year as a senior animator in a small digital animation house: Kinetix Digital Animation & Design.

John freelanced for a few multimedia companies around Toronto. Contracted by Sierra Creative Communications as senior interface designer, he helped bring them out of the woodwork by creating the CineTouch kiosks for Cineplex theatres, the Digital Bridge CD-ROM for Graphic Exchange Magazine, the ShinVision promotional CD-ROM and many other interesting projects.

In 1996, John spoke and coordinated the interactive portion of a speech on "Digital Brand Building" on behalf of Apple Canada; and in the past, John has spoken and demonstrated on behalf of SoftImage at several conferences. His functions at Crave involve supervision of all graphics production and client's image quality control for all projects.

In his spare time John plays pool, has a passion for twin-cylinder European motorcycles and playing/listening to classic blues music. He is currently playing around Toronto in a band with his older brother, called Eazy. He has also started up a new studio division of Crave Media, Inc. for producing and recording music, called Crave Music. Check it out!
